work hours*: 9:30am – 3:30pm

  • The westbound canopy will be delivered and installed tomorrow and the eastbound canopy will be installed and delivered on November 15.
  • During the delivery and installation of the steel structures, crews may need to stop traffic momentarily as the structures are hoisted up.
  • Short-term lane closure beside the platform may be needed.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers may be on site to direct traffic as required
  • Constructing a vivastation requires a significant amount of coordination and has many components. Check out this blog: building for the future for more information. It's taken years of design, planning and preparation to get to the point of station construction and we're excited to share it with you.

concrete pour stage 3:

work dates*: Saturday, November 10 to Monday, November 12
work hours*: 8:00am–5am [24hr/day to 5am Monday]

  • Stage 3 [current / final stage ] is the "closure strip" which is approximately 0.7m–1.2m in width across the entire length of bridge, connecting the newly poured deck extension to the existing bridge deck [3–4 hours of pour].
  • Stage 1 [completed], poured a total of 211 cubic metres of concrete.
  • Stage 2 [completed], the "mid–span" between the two ends, poured a total of 120 cubic metres.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers may be on site to direct traffic as required.
  • To accommodate this work, there will be both eastbound and westbound curb lane closures around the work area.

general impacts:

  • Sidewalks and bus stops will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk or bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.
  • Cross at the designated crosswalk. It can be tempting to cross in the middle of the road, but this can be very dangerous. Instead, cross at a designated crosswalk. Look both ways and be aware of your surroundings.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible.
