next week >> overnight storm sewer work on Highway 7 West

October 26, 2018

Starting Monday night, crews will be conducting overnight storm sewer and catch basin works on Highway 7 West from Weston Road to the bridge over Highway 400. Various lane closures will be required to complete this operation. Please see below for further details.

what you need to know:

work dates*: Monday, October 29 to Wednesday, October 31
work hours*: 8pm – 5am [overnight work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights]

  • To accommodate storm sewer and catch basin [the inlet to the storm sewer] work, there will be both eastbound and westbound curb lane closures between Weston and the bridge over Highway 400.
  • There will be westbound lane closures on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
  • There will be eastbound lane closures on Monday and Tuesday nights.
  • Sidewalks and bus stops will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk or bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.
  • Cross at the designated crosswalk. It can be tempting to cross in the middle of the road, but this can be very dangerous. Instead, cross at a designated crosswalk. Look both ways and be aware of your surroundings.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. Check twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.
