hydro pole installations on Hwy 7 West by the Hwy 400 ramps

Just a reminder that next week on Highway 7 between Edgeley Boulevard/Interchange Way and the Highway 400 bridge, crews will be installing 10 hydro poles and 3 stub poles. Please see below for further details.

what you need to know:

work dates*: Monday, Dec. 18 to Friday, Jan. 26
work hours*: 9am–3:30pm

  • Starting Monday, Dec. 18 to Friday, Dec 22 crews will be installing 10 hydro poles on the north side of Highway 7 between Edgeley and the Highway 400 bridge, and three stub poles on the south side of Highway 7.
  • To accommodate this work and the equipment required, there will be eastbound and westbound curb-lane and other lane closures around the work area.
  • Traffic will be shut down in all directions for approx. 10 to 15 minutes for each pole installation.
  • Paid duty police officers will be on site to direct traffic as required.
  • These lane closures will happen in westbound lanes first and then eastbound lanes afterwards.
  • Additional underground work is required once poles are installed.
  • Sidewalks will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signs will be onsite to help guide pedestrians.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
