Keith Bridge repairs continue on Davis Drive

With work progressing over the past three months, crews are on track to complete the repairs to parapet walls [the raised walls along the sidewalks] of the Keith Bridge. Please see below for more details.

work dates*: Work started the week of Monday, July 8, continuing for approximately five months
work hours*: 7am - 7pm [some weekend work may be required]

what you need to know:

  • Crews have completed the work on the north side of the Keith Bridge and pedestrian access will be reinstated on Tuesday, October 8.
  • The westbound curb lane along Davis Drive on the Keith Bridge has been restored to a left turn lane into the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce [470 Davis] and Seniors' Meeting Place [474 Davis]. The curb lane has also been reinstated to through traffic.
  • Crews continue work on the south side of the Keith Bridge, and will work in the area for approximately two months.
  • To accommodate this work, the sidewalk on the south side of the bridge will be closed starting Tuesday, October 8, for approximately one month, with pedestrian access being maintained on the north side.
  • Directional signs will guide pedestrians through the Tom Taylor Trail detour - see detour map.
  • The eastbound curb lane on Davis between Superior Street and the east end of Keith Bridge will be temporarily closed at times, during off-peak hours.

  • Access to businesses and properties near the work areas will be maintained.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
  • Expect delays and give yourself enough time to get to your destination.
