The future looks good!

Rapid transit in York Region is going well. Frequent buses, comfortable vehicles, realtime information displays and dependable service along key corridors are making life easier for everyone. Our first rapidway projects have created seamless connections along Highway 7 East in Richmond Hill and Markham, and on Davis Drive in Newmarket. The results have been positive, with decreased travel times and increased ridership on these corridors. With more people coming to York Region every year, rapid transit projects will provide a significant benefit.

Growth is great when it’s managed well. Good growth establishes clear guidelines for where things will go and what will be allowed. This approach ensures our existing neighbourhoods remain the way they are, while new developments are more compact, pedestrian-friendly and accessible by public transit.

Well-planned transit helps shape communities and transform lives. People get better, efficient transportation and more choices. They can get to work on time and, more importantly, get home on time. VivaNext helps to manage this process in a way that works for everyone.
