Wee where we're building next.
Yonge Subway Extension
The planned Yonge subway extension will extend 6.8 kilometres north from Finch Station to the Richmond Hill/Langstaff Urban Growth Centre at Highway 7. It will include up to six stations.
Highway 7 East \ Markham and Richmond Hill
Markham and Richmond Hill are becoming key destinations within York Region. The Highway 7 East rapidways that travel through both of these municipalities will connect to the Richmond Hill Centre, a new mixed-use urban centre featuring businesses, homes, shops, restaurants, a 10-acre park, a theatre – and you.
Highway 7 West \ Vaughan
Lucky number seven. It isn’t just the Spadina Subway line that’s coming to Vaughan. It’s everyone. And everything. The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre is on its way and that means offices, residences, restaurants, entertainment and busloads of culture. Yes, busloads.
Davis Drive \ Newmarket
Charming town where history and vitality mix. Pedestrian-friendly boulevards; green, open spaces; a vibrant corridor that brings the community together to dine and relax, live, work and shop. Sounds like a dream? Pinch yourself and keep reading.
Yonge Street \ Richmond Hill and Newmarket
This line is on a roll. In Richmond Hill, where the future Yonge Street North Subway extension ends, a new journey begins. Here, the Yonge Street rapidway will keep you on your journey up the GTA’s most storied corridor. As life along Yonge continues to look up, plans for this area include a wide range of new development initiatives, from great shopping and entertainment to vibrant public spaces.
Spadina Subway Extension
A subway line in Vaughan. Can you dig it? Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station. Has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? This is where the Toronto-York Spadina Subway will end after extending north from Downsview Station to Highway 7 in Vaughan. This subway line will include six stops, 8.6 kilometres of track, and stress-free transit service every stop and kilometre along the way.
Transit Facility \ Richmond Hill
Building for future growth. VivaNext is constructing a state-of-the-art LEED Silver certified operations, maintenance and storage facility near Leslie Street and 16th Avenue in the Headford business Park in the Town of Richmond Hill. This nine-acre 527,969 square foot facility includes energy-efficient, and environmentally-friendly features and will be used to maintain and store up to 250 articulated York Region Transit/Viva transit vehicles.
The wait is over. We’re next. Like a viva vehicle moving along its own dedicated rapidway in the centre of the road, the transit vision for York Region has been moving smoothly forward. Since viva’s launch in September 2005, ridership has grown by 38%.
