Partnering for Public Infrastructure, May 2009
We delivered a presentation to the Canadian Institute, a think tank that monitors trends and developments in all major industry sectors to provide decision-makers intelligence when responding to challenges here and around the world. We wrote a paper about our presentation to serve as a resource for delegates during the conference. This paper talks about the growth of York Region, the increase in a mobile workforce and the need to create livable communities built around transit infrastructure.
A group of city planners and government officials from seven counties in the Chicago area are considering implementing a bus rapid transit system in their jurisdiction. They asked us to share our experience in planning and marketing Viva, and our plans to implement the rapidways. This presentation was made to them when they visited the vivaNext project office.
Bringing Rapid Transit to Davis Drive, March 2009
We work closely with all nine of York Region's local municipalities to ensure that they are up to date on the latest vivaNext developments. This presentation was made at a recent Town of Newmarket Council meeting.
