Surveying continues on Highway 7 West

What type of work is being done?

Beginning August 24, for approximately a month, land surveyors will be taking measurements along the north side of Highway 7 West between Ansley Grove Road and Pine Valley Drive.

Why is it being done?

To more accurately document existing properties, road conditions and confirm property/project boundaries in preparation for building the vivaNext rapidway.

What impact will this have?

  • There should be little or no impact as surveyors use their portable measuring devices and make every effort to ensure area residents and businesses are not inconvenienced.
  • Some properties may need to be accessed by surveyors, and if your property is fenced and needs to be accessed, you will be personally contacted by our staff or the surveying company, Alex Marton Ltd.

it’s paving season along Highway 7 West in Vaughan

It’s an exciting time as the transformation of Highway 7 progresses! As crews continue work on sidewalks and vivastations, the next segments of paving are beginning at various locations between Edgeley Blvd./Interchange Way to the GO Barrie Bridge. These paving activities will be completed in sections over the next several months and will include closures and detours. Please see below for details. To keep up-to-date, sign up for notices here.

> This work will proceed in the median and will not include any traffic impacts.

RESCHEDULED TO: *7pm Friday, May 6 to 6am Monday, May 9
> The south side of Hwy 7 will be closed from just east and just west of Baldwin to the GO Barrie Bridge, including the Baldwin-Hwy 7 intersection.
> Traffic will be shifted to the north and reduced to one lane in each direction from Hillside to the GO Barrie Bridge.
> Detour signs will be in place, and paid duty officers will be on site to help direct traffic.

Anticipated start date: *7pm Friday, May 13 to 6am Monday, May 16
> The south side of Hwy 7 will be closed – with local traffic only.
> Traffic will be shifted to the north and reduced to one lane in each direction from Hillside to the GO Barrie Bridge.
> Detour signs will be in place, and paid duty officers will be on site to help direct traffic.

> Daytime work will proceed in the median, with no traffic impacts.
> Hwy. 7 will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 8pm to 6am with nightly closures at Costa Road.

> Eastbound left turns from Edgeley and Jane will be reduced to allow for buffer during paving operation.

> The south side of the intersection will be closed, as crews work around the clock to complete paving activities.
> Highway 7 traffic will shift to the north side of the intersection, with one lane open in each direction.
