Rapidways
The rapidways will feature dedicated centre lanes in roadways to allow our beautiful blue Viva vehicles to safely speed past congested traffic, no matter what time of day.
The vivaNext plan includes a network of several rapidways across York Region, beginning with the east-west Highway 7 rapidway from Highway 50 in Vaughan to Reesor Road in Markham, the north-south Yonge Street rapidway from the Richmond Hill Centre Terminal in Richmond Hill to Green Lane in Newmarket, and the east-west Davis Drive rapidway from Yonge Street to the Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket.

Subways
At our open houses, workshops and public meetings, we focused on the proposed Yonge subway extension (Finch Avenue to Highway 7).
The Regional Municipality of York, in partnership with the York Region Rapid Transit Corporation, the City of Toronto and the Toronto Transit Commission, studied the Yonge subway extension. We discussed options and concerns related to the subway's alignment, station locations, crossing of the East Don River, construction methods and much more.

Light Rail Transit
The Regional Municipality of York, in partnership with the York Regional Rapid Transit Corporation, the City of Toronto and the Toronto Transit Commission, are studying the Don Mills Road/Leslie Street and Jane Street light rail transit lines.
A series of consultation meetings with interested stakeholders and the public are taking place throughout 2009 to develop and determine the preferred design, number and location of stations, landscaping, pedestrian features, bike lanes and much more.
