Public transit ridership way up in York Region
Posted Jun 14, 2011, 10:00 amYork Region reports that Viva ridership has increased 26 per cent since launched in September 2005. From January to April 2011, overall ridership for both York Region Transit (YRT) and York Viva Bus Rapid Transit services increased 10.5 per cent compared to the same period in 2010. If this trend continues, YRT/Viva will surpass 21 million riders in 2011.
First Viva BRT station now open in York Region

Warden Station, located at Warden Avenue and Enterprise Boulevard in Markham, is the first of 11 new vivastations to be built along Highway 7.
