So what will life in the fast lane look like for vivaNext rapidways riders?

Here's a sneak peek.

Our beautiful blue Viva vehicles will travel along dedicated centre lanes in roadways known as rapidways and enjoy transit signal priority.

They will pick you up and drop you off at designated vivastations located along the medians, which will be easy to identify by their distinctive blue and glass canopies. In addition to being visually impactful, these canopies have been designed with your safety, comfort and convenience in mind.

They will be well-lit and feature handrails, sidewalks, access ramps, splash walls, overhead coverage, seating areas, fare equipment, service update screens, trash containers, a telephone and bicycle racks.

To make it safe and easy for you to walk across bicycle and traffic lanes to reach vivastations, there will be comprehensive networks of connected sidewalks, crosswalks and signals.

Time spent in traffic drives up our cost of doing business through lost productivity and absenteeism.

Once on board our Viva vehicles, you will notice several things as you relax and look out your window at the streetscape while safely speeding past traffic.

For instance, fully landscaped boulevards and medians. Wider intersections and sidewalks. Comfortable street benches. Street lamps. Banner poles. New restaurants, shops, businesses and residential complexes. Sculptures and other artwork. School children. Dogwalkers. Friends. Families.
