traffic signal activation at Yonge and Millard

July 12, 2017

Hello,

The installation of temporary traffic poles and signals between Sawmill Valley Drive and Davis Drive on Yonge Street has made great progress. Tomorrow, crews will be activating the temporary traffic signal at the Yonge and Millard Avenue intersection. Temporary disruptions to the traffic lights will be required.

work dates*: Thursday, July 13
work hours: 9:30am–3pm

  • The traffic lights will be out of service in all directions at the intersection of Yonge and Millard. Expect to see the lights out or flashing.
  • Paid duty police officers will be onsite to direct traffic until the traffic signals are restored.
  • Vehicle access to Yonge and Millard will be maintained at all times.
  • The sidewalks around the work areas may be temporarily closed at times. Personnel will be onsite to guide pedestrians around the work zone as necessary.
  • Once activated, crews will return at a later date to remove the old traffic poles.
  • There will be temporary curb lane closures around the work areas.
  • Bus stops and sidewalks will remain open. If a bus stop or sidewalk is closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop or sidewalk.

*Please note: As with all construction projects, some work may be re-scheduled due to weather. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. Watch twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.
