work dates*: Tuesday, September 29 – Friday, November 13
work hours*: 7am to 7pm

what you need to know

  • The gas main will be installed using directional drilling, a tunneling technique that minimizes disruption and excavation. Trenches will also be used in select areas.
  • Crews will then connect gas services to the new gas main, filling trenches and restoring the road and boulevard.
  • The pedestrian sidewalk on the west side of Yonge between Clearmeadow and Eagle will be closed for the duration of this work.
  • To walk between Clearmeadow and Eagle, pedestrians have access to the sidewalk on the east side of Yonge. Watch for directional signage.
  • For pedestrians wanting to access 17070 Yonge from Eagle, a temporary sidewalk will be installed.
  • For drivers, access to 17000, 17030 and 17070 Yonge will remain the same.
  • Temporary lane closures may be required to load or unload equipment.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty officers will be on site as required.
  • There will be construction-related noise, dust and vibration disturbances from equipment and trucks. Some weekend work may be required.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you in advance for your patience during this time.
