Please read the following update for construction activities happening on Yonge Street.

temporary traffic signal installation

Crews will be installing temporary traffic and pedestrian signals at the intersection of Yonge Street and Clearmeadow Boulevard/William Roe Boulevard as part of the gas main installation process.

Work dates: Friday, September 11 and Monday, September 14*
Work times: 9:30am–7:00pm*
Work area: intersection of Yonge Street and Clearmeadow Boulevard

What you need to know:

  • The right-turn lane from Clearmeadow to Yonge, and the southbound curb lane on Yonge, will be temporarily closed around the intersection during off-peak hours.
  • The sidewalk on the west side of Yonge remains closed from Clearmeadow to Mulock Drive. Pedestrians will have access to the sidewalk on the east side of Yonge. Watch for directional signs.
  • The traffic lights will be out of service as crews switch over to the temporary signals.
  • Police officers will be on site to direct traffic until service is restored.

utility investigations

There will also be a crew completing some utility investigations along Yonge Street next week.

Work dates: Monday, September 21 – Friday, October 2*
Work times: 7am-7pm*
Work area: Yonge Street from Davis Drive to Savage Road/Sawmill Valley Drive

What you need to know:

  • There will be temporary north and southbound curb lane closures on Yonge Street as crews move along the corridor.
  • Crews will be using a truck-mounted vacuum to conduct the investigations. There will be noise associated with this work.
  • Access to driveways will be maintained in work areas.
  • Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a sidewalk or bus stop is closed, directional signs will be posted to guide pedestrians.
