traffic signal activation at Yonge and Major Mackenzie

Tomorrow, crews will be activating temporary traffic signals at the Yonge Street and Major Mackenzie Drive intersection in Richmond Hill. Temporary disruptions to the traffic lights will be required. See below for more details.

work dates*: Tuesday, March 20
work hours*: 9am-5pm

what you need to know

  • Traffic lights will be out or flashing in all directions at the intersection of Yonge and Major Mackenzie from 9am-1pm.
  • Intermittent lane closures around the intersection will be in place during this work.
  • Paid duty police officers will be onsite to direct traffic until the traffic signals are restored.
  • Crews will return to remove the old traffic poles and equipment.
  • Vehicle access to Yonge and Major Mackenzie will be maintained at all times.
  • Sidewalks around the intersections may be temporarily closed. Where sidewalks are closed directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
