gas main installation on Yonge from Beresford to 16th

Starting Monday, gas main installation will begin on the east side of Yonge Street from Beresford Drive to 16th Avenue in Richmond Hill.

work dates*: Monday, March 5 for approximately three months
work hours*: 7am-7pm

what you need to know

The gas main will be installed using directional drilling, a tunnelling technique that minimizes disruption and excavation. Trenches will also be used in select areas where needed.
Temporary northbound curb lane closures will be required around the work areas.
At times crews will be required to move back and forth in the work zone.
Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a sidewalk or bus stop is closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.
Access to properties and businesses will be maintained; however, driveways may be reduced or temporarily disrupted. Advance notice will be provided wherever possible.
Traffic control staff and paid duty officers will be on site as required.
Some weekend work may be required.
Due to the nature of this work, at times, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
