Starting tomorrow, crews will be installing a duct bank [a structure which gathers together and encases utility cables] on the west side of Yonge Street from Baif Boulevard to Major Mackenzie Drive West.

what you need to know

Crews will install the duct bank by digging an open trench that will encase the utility cables.

To accommodate this work, there will be temporary southbound curb lane closures around the work area. More information about these lane closures will be provided once details are confirmed.

Wherever possible, sidewalks will remain open. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk.

Bus stops may be temporarily relocated as work progresses. Where bus stops are affected, directional signage will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop.

Access to properties in the work area will be maintained; however driveways may be reduced or temporarily disrupted. Advance notice will be provided wherever possible.

Some weekend and overnight work may be required.

Equipment used for this operation will be stored along the boulevards for the duration of this work.

Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

Due to the nature of this work, at times, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
