traffic signal work on Yonge in Richmond Hill

Tomorrow, crews will be working on traffic signals at the intersection of Yonge Street and Elgin Mills Road and the intersection just south of Yonge and Canyon Hill Avenue/Bernard Avenue. To accommodate this work, traffic signals will be temporarily deactivated. Please see below for further details.

work hours: 9:30am-2pm

what you need to know

  • During off-peak hours, the traffic lights will be out of service in all directions at the intersection of Yonge and Elgin Mills and the intersection just south of Yonge and Canyon Hill/Bernard for approximately 30 minutes. Expect to see the lights out or flashing.
  • Vehicle access in the area will be maintained at all times.
  • Paid duty police officers will be on site to direct traffic until the traffic signals are restored.
  • The curbside southbound lane just north of Yonge and Elgin Mills, on the west side of Yonge, will be temporarily closed during this time.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
