traffic signal activation at Yonge and Gamble/19th

Tomorrow, crews will be activating temporary traffic signals at the intersection of Yonge Street and Gamble Road/19th Avenue in Richmond Hill. Temporary disruptions to the traffic lights will be required.

work hours: 9am-5pm

what you need to know

  • Traffic lights will be out or flashing in all directions at the intersection of Yonge and Gamble/19th from 9am-1pm.
  • During off peak hours, Yonge will be reduced to one northbound and one southbound lane around the intersection as crews perform this work.
  • Paid duty police officers will be onsite to direct traffic until the traffic signals are restored.
  • Once activated, crews will remove the old traffic poles and equipment.
  • Vehicle access to Yonge and Gamble/19th will be maintained at all times.
  • Sidewalks around the intersections may be temporarily closed. Where sidewalks are closed directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
