update: overnight hydro work at Yonge and Carrville

Hello,

Crews are now scheduled to trench across Carrville Road at Yonge Street starting on Sunday, June 18. Crews will install a duct bank [a structure which gathers together and encases hydro cables] and connect the underground service lines.

work dates*: Sunday, June 18,  for approximately 5-6 nights 
work hours: 7pm-7am, overnight

what you need to know:

  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be onsite for the duration of this work.
  • There will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
  • Access will be maintained to properties in work areas; however driveways may be reduced or temporarily disrupted. Advance notice will be provided wherever possible.
  • Some bus stop relocations may be required for this work. Where bus stops are affected, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop.
  • The sidewalk and crosswalk on the west side of Yonge and Carrville will be closed overnight for the duration of the work. Directional signage will be onsite to guide pedestrians around the work zone.
