overnight closures at Observatory Lane and the South Hill Shopping Centre entrance

Crews will be working overnight this week [November 16-17] to connect the new water main in various locations on Yonge Street from just north of 16th Avenue to Observatory Lane. Due to the nature of this work, at times, there will be construction-related noise, dust and vibration disturbances from equipment and trucks. Please read on for further details and impacts of this work, which include closures to Observatory Lane and the main entrance to South Hill Shopping Centre [9325 Yonge].

Observatory Lane overnight closure

work dates*: Wednesday, November 16
work times*: Overnight [8pm-7am]

A small portion of Observatory Lane will be closed at Yonge as crews work in the intersection.
Please follow posted detour signs that will guide motorists around the closure.
Vehicle thru-traffic from Observatory to Yonge will not be permitted during the road closure.

South Hill Shopping Centre overnight entrance closure

work dates*: Thursday, November 17
work times*: Overnight [8pm-7am]

The main entrance to South Hill Shopping Centre [9325 Yonge] will be closed overnight as crews work in the area.
Access to the plaza will be maintained on Yonge, just south of the main entrance and on 16th Ave.
The northbound curb-lane on Yonge will be closed, just north and south of the plaza’s main entrance.
Vehicle thru-traffic from Hillcrest to South Hill Shopping Centre will not be permitted during this work.
Paid duty police officers will be onsite to direct traffic.

*Please note: As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible.
