traffic signal work on Yonge Street at Hillcrest and Baif

Tomorrow, the traffic lights on Yonge at Hillcrest and Baif will be temporarily out of service as crews switch over to temporary signals. Please see below for more information.

work dates*: Thursday, August 18 – Friday, August 19
work hours*: 7am – 7pm

  • On Thursday, August 18, crews will begin at Baif and then move to the Hillcrest Mall intersection to switch over to the temporary signals.
  • During off-peak hours, the traffic lights will be out of service in all directions. Expect to see the lights out or flashing.
  • Vehicle access on Yonge to Hillcrest and Baif will be maintained at all times. Paid duty police officers will be on site to direct traffic until the traffic signals are restored.
  • The sidewalks in each work area will be temporarily closed. Personnel will be on site to guide pedestrians around the work zone as necessary.
  • On Friday, August 19, crews will be removing the traffic signal poles in the centre median. One northbound and one southbound lane closest to the median strip will be closed as crews remove the poles.

* Please note: As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible.
