June 20, 2016

To prepare for utility work in the area, crews will be adjusting the wire height on Yonge Street at the intersection of Carrville Road/16th Avenue, and the entrance to South Hill Shopping Centre. Please see details below.

Map of construction work areas

work dates*: Wednesday, June 22 to Thursday, June 23
work hours*: 7am–7pm

what you need to know:

  • Crews will start at the intersection of Yonge and Carrville, and then move to the Hillcrest Mall/South Hill Shopping Centre intersection.
  • Crews will set up and take down each work area as work progresses.
  • The traffic lights will be temporarily out of service as crews disconnect and reconnect the wires.
  • There will be temporary northbound curb lane closures around the work areas on Yonge, and a temporary eastbound curb lane closure at the southwest corner of Yonge and Carrville.
  • Wherever possible, bus stops and sidewalks will remain open. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty officers will be on site as required.

* Please note: As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you in advance for your patience during this time.
