Crews will continue underground utility investigations along Yonge Street in Richmond Hill in preparation for Yonge Street rapidway construction that begins this year. Please see details below.

Dates of work*: Friday, May 8 – Friday, June 19, 2015
Hours of work*: 7:00am – 7:00pm
Work locations: Various locations along Yonge Street from Highway 407 to just north of 19th Avenue/Gamble Road.

Crews will be locating underground utilities using a hydrovac [truck-mounted vacuum]. Each hole will be filled before crews move to the next location.

What you need to know:

• There will be temporary alternating north and southbound lane closures on Yonge Street as crews move along the corridor
• Due to the hydrovac truck vacuum, there will be noise associated with this work
• Access to driveways will be maintained in work areas
• Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a sidewalk/bus stop is closed, directional signs will be posted to guide pedestrians
