utility installation on Oak at Yonge

Starting Tuesday, crews will be installing a duct bank [a structure which gathers together and encases telecommunications cables] on the west side of Yonge Street at Oak Avenue.

work dates*: Tuesday, October 17 - Thursday, October 19
work hours: 7am – 7pm

what you need to know:

  • On Tuesday, crews will be working on the northwest corner of Yonge and Oak, working south.
    • To accommodate this work, access to Yonge and Oak will be limited each day.
    • Crews will backfill and plate the work area at the end of each day.
    • At times, there will be no access to Yonge or Oak for up to 10 minutes.
    • Please follow detour signs that will guide motorists around the work zone.
  • On Thursday, crews will pave Oak, starting on the northwest corner, moving south.
    • To accommodate this work, access to Oak and Yonge will be limited.
    • At times, there will be no access to Yonge or Oak for up to 10 minutes.
    • Please follow detour signs that will guide motorists around the work zone.
  • Paid duty police officers and traffic control staff will be onsite for the duration of this work.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be, at times, construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
