median removals along Yonge in Richmond Hill

Starting Monday, crews will be removing concrete medians on Yonge Street, starting at the Yonge Connector Road and working north to Bantry Avenue. Crews will also remove medians on the Yonge Connector Road, High Tech Road and Bantry.

work dates*: Monday, October 16, for approximately one month
work hours: 7am – 7pm

what you need to know:

Crews will be removing the concrete median strips [the areas that separate opposing lanes of traffic], grading and then paving the surfaces in several locations between Yonge Connector and Bantry.
To accommodate this work, there will be short-term closures of the northbound and southbound centre lanes and left turn lanes around the work areas. The lane closure hours are:

Southbound Yonge, 9:30am to 7pm.
Northbound Yonge, 7am to 3:30pm.

Yonge Connector, High Tech and Bantry will be reduced to one lane eastbound and one lane westbound while crews remove the medians.
There will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
