Crews will be conducting overnight paving and restoration work at the following intersections: Yonge and Carrville Road, Yonge and High Tech Road, and Yonge and Garden Avenue.

work dates*: Saturday, July 15, for approximately three weeks
work hours: 8pm–6am, overnight

what you need to know:

  • Crews will work north to south, from Carrville to Garden, where they will:
    • Remove temporary asphalt, grind and re-pave sections in the work zones along Yonge, Carrville, High Tech and Garden.
    • Line paint in sections within the work zones.

Stage 1 – Yonge and Carrville

  • To accommodate paving on Carrville, eastbound traffic will be reduced to one thru lane in the work zone.
  • Crews will then pave Yonge, just south of Carrville. To accommodate this work:
    • Eastbound Carrville will be reduced to one thru lane as crews pave the right-turn lane onto Yonge.
    • Southbound Yonge will also be reduced to one thru lane south of the intersection. Left- and right-turn lanes onto Carrville/16th Avenue will remain open.
  • To accommodate this work, there will be temporary rolling lane closures around the intersection.

Stage 2 – Yonge and High Tech

  • Around the Yonge and High Tech intersection, crews will pave north and southbound lanes on Yonge and pave across High Tech just east of Yonge. To accommodate this work, there will be temporary rolling lane closures on Yonge and High Tech around the intersection.

Stage 3 – Yonge and Garden

  • Crews will pave north and southbound lanes on Yonge around the intersection.
  • Crews will also pave across Garden and the Yonge connector road.
  • To accommodate this work, there will be temporary rolling lane closures around the intersection.
  • During this stage, the right-turn lane onto Yonge from the Yonge Connector Road will be closed.

Other Details:

  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be onsite for the duration of work.
  • Weekend work will be required.
  • Sidewalks and crosswalks around the work areas will be closed overnight. Directional signs will be onsite to guide pedestrians around the work areas. Sidewalks and crosswalks will reopen each morning.
  • Bus stops may be temporarily relocated. Where bus stops are affected, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop.
  • There will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks, including grinding of pavement.
