utility installation continues on Yonge from Garden to Carrville

Starting Monday, crews will be installing a duct bank [a structure which gathers together and encases telecommunications cables] on the west side of Yonge Street from just south of Garden Avenue to Carrville Road.

work dates*: Monday, June 5, for approximately 5 months
work hours: 7am-7pm

what you need to know:

There will be temporary southbound curb lane closures and some right-turn lane closures in the work area. More information about these lane closures will be provided as work progresses.
Wherever possible, sidewalks will remain open. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to guide pedestrians.
Access will be maintained to properties in work areas; however driveways may be reduced or temporarily disrupted. Advance notice will be provided wherever possible.
Some bus stop relocations may be required for this work. Where bus stops are affected, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop.
Traffic control staff and paid duty officers will be onsite as required.
Some weekend and overnight work may be required.
The equipment used for these operations will be stored along the boulevards for the duration of this work.
Due to the nature of this work, at times, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with all construction projects, some work may be re-scheduled due to weather. We’ll provide advanced notice when possible.
