utility manhole construction on Yonge Street in Richmond Hill

March 17, 2017

To prepare for the relocation of utilities and widening of Yonge Street, crews will be completing utility manhole work on the west side of Yonge, just north of Levendale Road to Trayborn Drive.

work dates*: Monday, March 20, for approximately 6 weeks
work hours: 7am–7pm

what you need to know:

  • To accommodate utility manhole work on Yonge, there will be temporary southbound curb lane closures in work areas during off-peak hours.
  • Wherever possible, sidewalks will remain open. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to guide pedestrians.
  • Bus stops may be temporarily relocated. Where bus stops are affected, directional signs will guide you to the nearest open bus stop.
  • There will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
  • Some weekend work will be required.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible.

Rapidway construction is progressing on Yonge Street, and we thank you for continuing to support our local shops and businesses. Stop, shop and dine on Yonge!
