temporary traffic pole installation on Yonge Street at Richmond Heights Plaza

March 15, 2017

As work for the Yonge Street rapidway project gets underway, residents will start to see changes to how intersection traffic signals and vehicle movements work. Before we complete the intersection design, we must first install temporary traffic poles and signals. Crews will be installing these temporary traffic poles and signals at the Yonge entrance to the Richmond Heights Plaza. Please see details below.

work dates*: Thursday, March 16, for approximately 3 weeks
work hours: 7am–7pm

what you need to know:

  • Crews will install temporary traffic poles and attach traffic and pedestrian signals at each corner of this intersection.
  • There will be short-term lane closures around the work areas as crews install the temporary traffic poles.
  • After the temporary poles and signals have been installed, traffic signals will be activated. Details and dates will be provided at a later time.
  • Wherever possible, bus stops and sidewalks will remain open. If a sidewalk or bus stop is closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk.
  • Please expect delays and give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather. We’ll provide advance notice whenever possible.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you for your patience. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
