Paving is almost complete in the Highway 7 and South Town Centre Boulevard area. Crews will be applying a base layer of paving in the intersection of South Town Centre and Cedarland Drive, followed by a final top layer of paving in the traffic lanes of Town Centre Boulevard just south of Cox Avenue, down South Town Centre to just south of Cedarland. The final paving of the red asphalt in this section of rapidway will take place at a later date this summer.

Paving is highly weather-dependent, so the dates or times may change. Please see the information below about impacts and lane closures.

temporary pavement removal and base layer paving

Location: West side of the intersection at South Town Centre and Cedarland
Dates/Times: Starting as early as Wednesday, June 24, 7pm – 5am*

Description:

• Crews will remove the existing temporary asphalt, and apply a base layer of pavement within the following two days.
• Southbound traffic will be driving on a temporary compressed gravel surface for approximately one day before the intersection is paved.
• Sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open, and Viva buses will continue to travel this section of rapidway during regular operating hours.

top layer paving

Location: Town Centre/South Town Centre, Cedarland and Clegg Road
Dates/Times: overnight from 7pm Thursday, June 25 to 5am Friday, June 26*

Description:

7pm Thursday to 1am Friday [see map, below left], crews will apply a top layer of pavement to the following locations:

• South Town Center from Highway 7 to just south of Cedarland.
  - On South Town Centre, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, and southbound traffic will be shifted to the east side of the road.
• Clegg in a section to the west side of the South Town Centre intersection.
  - Clegg will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic on the west side of the South Town Centre intersection – access will be maintained to driveways on Clegg.
• Cedarland from South Town Centre to Warden Avenue.
  - Cedarland will be closed to traffic.

Sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open, and Viva buses will continue to travel this section of rapidway during regular operating hours.

1am to 5am on Friday [see map, below right], crews will apply a top layer of pavement to the following locations:

• Town Centre Boulevard from Cox Boulevard to Highway 7.
  - Town Centre will be closed to northbound and southbound traffic between Cox Boulevard and Highway 7 – access will be maintained to Cox Blvd.
• South Town Center from Highway 7 to just south of Cedarland.
  - On South Town Centre, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction, and northbound traffic will be shifted to the west side of the road.
• Clegg near the intersection of South Town Centre.
  - Clegg will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic on the east side of the South Town Centre intersection – access will be maintained to driveways on Clegg.

Sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open, and Viva buses will resume service along this section of rapidway during regular operating hours on Friday
