Crews will be saw-cutting sections of sidewalk along Highway 7 East, where defaults in the sidewalk surface have been identified. Although the sidewalk defaults do not pose a safety risk, these sections of sidewalk will be replaced at a later date [under warranty] to ensure quality is maintained in future years along our pedestrian areas. Cutting the sidewalk in advance allows easier removal during replacement. Please see the information below about sidewalk work along Highway 7.

Location: Highway 7, between Bayview Avenue and East Beaver Creek Road, in various locations.
Dates: Starting as early as Monday, June 15, for approximately one week.
Times: Work will be completed weekdays from 9:30am to 5pm.

Description:

• Crews will cut sidewalks in various locations on the north side of Highway 7 from Bayview to East Beaver Creek for approximately two days, on one or more blocks at a time.
• Crews will then do the same work in various locations along the south side of Highway 7 from Bayview to East Beaver Creek.
• Sidewalks, bike lanes and bus stops will remain open, with flag persons helping to guide people around areas where work is underway.
• Crosswalks will remain open, and Viva rapidways will continue service during regular hours.
• There will be construction-related noise from equipment, and dust will be contained as much as possible.
• Work will be completed as quickly as possible to minimize any inconvenience.
• This work is weather-dependent.
