retaining wall on Highway 7 West

November 22, 2017

Crews will be building a retaining wall on the north side of Highway 7 West with right-turn-lane closures between Colossus Drive and Weston Road. Retaining walls are built to provide stability between two areas of land at different heights, with the wall supporting the higher level of ground. Please see below for further details.

work dates*: Thursday, Nov. 23 for approximately three weeks
work hours*: 7am–5pm [closure 24 hrs/day]

what you need to know:

  • To accommodate construction of a retaining wall, westbound right-turn lanes will be closed from Colossus and Weston.
  • Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a bus stop or sidewalk is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop or sidewalk.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. Check twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.
