retaining wall construction on Hwy 7 West at Marycroft Ave.

June 6, 2017

Hello,

Starting this week, crews will be building a retaining wall along Hwy 7 by Marycroft Ave. Retaining walls are built to provide stability between two areas of land at different heights, with the wall supporting the higher level of ground. Please see below for further details.

work dates*: Monday, June 5 to Friday, June 30
work hours*: 7am–5pm

  • To accommodate this work, the southbound curb lane will be closed at the corner of Marycroft Ave. and Hwy 7.
  • Traffic control staff will be on site to direct traffic, as required.
  • Sidewalks and bus stops will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk or bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible. Watch twitter.com/vivanext for last-minute updates.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you in advance for your patience during this time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
