monitoring well removals on Highway 7 West

May 17, 2017

Hello,

Several months ago, monitoring wells were placed along Highway 7 West to track environmental conditions. To avoid conflicts with upcoming utility work, crews will be removing them. Please see below for further details.

work dates*: Thursday, May 18
work hours*: 7am-5pm

  • To accommodate trucks and equipment needed for the removal of monitoring wells, there will be short-term lane closures on Highway 7 West from Pine Valley Drive to Commerce Street.
  • Crews will be extracting the 5-cm wells from the ground and then backfilling each area.
  • Traffic control staff and paid-duty police officers will be on site to direct traffic, as required.
  • Sidewalks and bus stops will remain open wherever possible. If a sidewalk or bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you in advance for your patience during this time. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
