telecommunications work begins on Highway 7 West

April 19, 2017

Hello,

An important step in building the vivaNext rapidway on Highway 7 West is relocating telecommunications. This week, crews are preparing for the first segment of this work, which will occur on the south side of Highway 7 from Whitmore Road to Colossus Drive. Please see below for further details.

work dates*: Thursday, April 20 and over the next several months
work hours*: 7am-5pm

  • While most of this work will take place in the boulevard on the south side of Highway 7, there may be short-term curb lane closures between Whitmore Rd. and Colossus Dr. during off-peak hours: 9:30am–3:30pm.
  • Sidewalks and bus stops will remain open where possible. If a sidewalk or bus stop is closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop or sidewalk.
  • Access will be maintained to properties in work areas; however, driveways may be reduced or temporarily disrupted. Advance notice will be provided wherever possible.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
  • Some weekend or night work may be required.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible.

We understand that construction can be disruptive and we thank you in advance for your patience during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
