what you need to know:

  • Transit connections are transforming Vaughan – with the rapidway project on Highway 7 West opening soon.
  • This new rapidway will connect to the Highway 7 West segment from Edgeley Boulevard to Bowes Road [which opened in December 2017], the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre [VMC] vivastation, the TTC Line 1 subway and SmartCentres Place Bus Terminal.
  • Dedicated bus lanes, five new vivastations, tree-lined sidewalks, raised bike lanes, and a new multi-use path on the Highway 7 bridge over Highway 400, [between Famous Avenue and Applewood Crescent] for pedestrians and cyclists, bringing convenience and beauty to the area.
  • Beginning in the west, the new vivastations are Wigwoss-Helen, Pine Valley Drive, Ansley Grove Road, Weston Road and Commerce Street.
  • Viva drivers have begun training in the new section of rapidway.
  • Motorists should be aware that the red "BUS ONLY" lanes are rapidway lanes intended only for Viva buses and emergency vehicles – an added benefit that the rapidways bring to each community – saving valuable time when it's truly needed. Ready more on the blog, Rapidways >> who goes there?
  • When getting to and from everywhere is this easy, it attracts people to shop, dine, work and live here.
