this week on Highway 7 W >> bridge girders being installed

Starting tonight, a milestone operation is happening on Highway 7 West at the bridge over Highway 400. Five steel girders will be installed over three nights. While most of the activity will be taking place under the bridge, some Highway 7 ramps to Highway 400 will be affected. Please see below for further details.

work dates*: Tuesday, Oct. 10 to Friday, Oct. 13
work hours*: 8pm–5am [overnight]

what you need to know:

  • On eastbound Highway 7, the ramp to northbound Highway 400 will be closed from 12am–5am – see Map 1.
  • On Wednesday night, two more girders will be installed.
  • On westbound Highway 7, the ramp to southbound Highway 400 will be closed from 8pm–5am – see Map 2.
  • On Thursday night, the fifth and final girder will be installed. No Highway 7 ramps will be closed.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be onsite.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
