May 19, 2017

temporary traffic signal installation

work dates*: Tuesday, May 23 – Friday, June 30
work hours*: 7am-5pm

what you need to know:

  • Crews will install temporary traffic poles and attach traffic and pedestrian signals at each corner of the intersection of Highway 7 West and Aberdeen Ave./Marycroft Ave.
  • There will be short-term lane closures [9:30am – 3:30pm] around the work area.
  • Traffic will continue through the intersection, including left and right turns.
  • Wherever possible, sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a bus stop or sidewalk is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop or sidewalk.
  • Traffic control staff and paid duty police officers will be on site as required.
  • Due to the nature of this work, there will be construction-related noise and vibration around the work area from equipment and trucks.
  • After the temporary poles and signals have been installed at each corner of the intersection, the traffic signals will be activated at a later date. We will send an update as soon as it’s scheduled.
