beginning Sunday, YRT Route 77 and Viva Purple to service vivastations in rapidway

A new stage in the transformation of Highway 7 is happening! Beginning on Sunday, Feb. 26, YRT Route 77 and Viva Purple will temporarily change bus stop locations to operate in the completed section of rapidway on Highway 7 West, between Keele Street and Bowes Road. This will continue until the opening of the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension later this year when routes will change. Please see details below.

what you need to know:

  • YRT Route 77: East and westbound Route 77 will service the Creditstone Road and Keele Street rapidway vivastations on Highway 7. Customers will continue to pay through the fare box onboard the bus (Route 77).
  • Viva Purple: This route will service the Keele Street rapidway vivastation on Highway 7, eastbound only. Customers will purchase/validate their fare at the fare machines located on the platform. Westbound Viva Purple buses will continue to service the curbside vivastation on Keele south of Highway 7.
  • To use the rapidway vivastations, cross at the signalized intersection and turn onto the platform ramp at the centre median. Board/disembark the bus on the rapidway vivastation platform.
  • Directional signs and YRT/Viva staff will be available on site next week to assist customers.
