Hwy 7 signal activation at Maplecrete and crosswalk installation at Creditstone

Crews will be activating the new traffic signals at Maplecrete Rd. and Highway 7 tomorrow morning. Tonight, crosswalks will be installed at the Highway 7 W and Creditstone Rd. intersection tonight, with prep work happening at Highway 7 W and Jane St. In addition, Work is also continuing on the CN Bridge. NEW signal activation at Maplecrete

Crews will be activating the new traffic signals at the Highway 7 West and Maplecrete Rd intersection.

work dates*: Thursday, Sept. 22
work hours*: 9am–12pm

  • Note that these signals are NEW.
  • Eastbound and westbound traffic on Hwy 7 will be reduced to one lane in each direction, and then northbound and southbound traffic on Maplecrete will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
  • Traffic signal activation and temporary traffic equipment removals will take place.
  • Traffic will be controlled by paid-duty police officers during the activation and removals.
  • Please expect traffic delays through the area.

  • Note there will be signal work at Creditstone afterwards, for roughly one hour.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

crosswalk street printing

work dates*: Wednesday, Sept. 21 to Thursday, Sept. 22
work hours*: 8pm–6am, overnight

  • Crews will continue to install the crosswalk street printing at Hwy 7 intersections tonight at Creditstone Rd. Prep work will also take place at Hwy7 and Jane.
  • Hwy 7 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
  • Street print refers to road markings that clearly show where pedestrians are to cross the street at signalized intersections. The stamping gives the impression of a cobblestone path on the road.
