westbound traffic shift on Hwy 7 CN Bridge

September 20, 2016

Crews will continue working at the CN Bridge on Highway 7 West tonight, until Friday night. In addition, crosswalk installation will be happening at Maplecrete tonight. Please read on for details on this work.

CN Bridge work

work dates*: Tuesday, Sept. 20 to Saturday, Sept. 24
work hours*: 7pm–6am, overnight

  • Crews will be installing rubber seals and performing a water seal test on the three westbound lanes across the CN Bridge.
  • Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane to accommodate this work.
  • Each night, westbound traffic will be shifted to the lane next to the rapidway and then shifted into the curb lane.
  • Traffic will return to its regular configuration each day.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

crosswalk street printing

work dates*: Tuesday, Sept. 20 to Wednesday, Sept. 21
work hours*: 8pm–6am, overnight

  • Crews will continue to install the crosswalk street printing at the Hwy 7 and Maplecrete Rd intersection tonight.
  • Hwy 7 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone and at times, shifted into the rapidway.
  • Street print refers to road markings that clearly show where pedestrians are to cross the street at signalized intersections. The stamping gives the impression of a cobblestone path on the road.
  • Lane closures will be in place as crews are performing work at each intersection.
  • Curb lanes will be done during the day tomorrow; right lanes will be reduced and the bus stations shifted to accommodate the workspace.
