red asphalt paving

work dates*: Thursday, Aug. 25 to Friday, Aug. 26
work hours*: 7pm–6am

what you need to know:

  • Crews will begin paving the rapidway on Highway 7 West, both east and westbound, from the CN Bridge to the GO Barrie Bridge, east of Bowes/Baldwin.
  • Each intersection [see map] will experience a 3-hour interruption, one at a time, as crews pave through and allow for the asphalt to cool.
  • The Keele intersection is scheduled to be paved first, and then Bowes/Baldwin.
  • This means that during this time there will be no north or southbound movement through the intersection.
  • Traffic wishing to head north or south through the intersection will be detoured to next intersection to make U-turn.
  • Paid duty police officers will be on site to help direct traffic.
  • Bus stops and sidewalk access may be shift during this operation. Signs will be placed onsite to guide pedestrians.
  • There will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible.
