upcoming lane closures on Centre, Bathurst and Highway 7 West

August 12, 2016

Over the next few weeks, crews will be removing monitoring wells and completing surveying work on Centre Street, Bathurst Street and Highway 7 West. Please see below for further details.

monitoring well removals on Centre, Bathurst and Highway 7 West

Several months ago, monitoring wells were placed throughout the corridors to track environmental conditions. To avoid conflicts with upcoming utility work, they will be removed over the next few weeks.

work dates*: Monday, August 15 to Friday, August 26
work times*: 7am – 5pm

  • This work requires temporary, rolling lane closures around some of the work areas.
  • In the Bathurst & Centre area, crews will begin on Centre and head eastbound to Bathurst. They will then proceed north to the Highway 7 connector ramp and continue along Highway 7 to Yonge Street. Next, in the Highway 7 West area, crews will begin at Bruce St. and head eastbound to Centre.
  • Sidewalks and bus stops will remain open. If a sidewalk or bus stop is temporarily closed, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open sidewalk or bus stop.
  • Due to the nature of this work, at times there will be construction-related noise and vibration around the work area from the work activity, equipment and trucks.
