construction update for Highway 7 West

Construction is in full swing on the Highway 7 West corridor, as crews work to open the rapidway east of Jane Street later this year. See below for details on upcoming overnight work and lane reductions.

Starting Monday, crews will be installing new medians on several side streets off of Hwy 7, between Edgelely Blvd./Interchange Way and Keele Street.

work dates*: Monday, June 20 to Monday, July 4
work hours: 7am–5pm

  • Crews will be building medians, just north and south of Hwy 7, on Interchange/Edgeley, Jane Street, Creditstone Road and Keele Street.
  • Crews will work on one intersection at a time. At each location, north and southbound traffic will be temporarily reduced to one lane each for left-turns, right-turns and through traffic.

overnight line painting

Crews will also be line painting overnight in various locations along the corridor.

work dates*: Monday, June 20 to Tuesday, June 21
work hours: 7pm–6am

  • Eastbound Hwy 7 will be reduced to one lane through the VMC area, as crews paint traffic lines.
  • Westbound Hwy 7 will be reduced to one lane from west of Keele to east of Creditstone for line painting.
  • Traffic will shift as the operation progresses.
