overnight work on Highway 7 and VMC area

It’s a busy time on the corridor as crews work day and night to make progress on Highway 7 West. Please read on for details of overnight work in the area.

tonight >> sewer inspections on Highway 7 and Keele

Tonight, crews will begin inspecting the sewer performance on Highway 7 and some side streets, from Keele Street to Jane Street.

work dates*: Tuesday, June 14 to Wednesday, June 29
work hours: 8pm–6am, overnight

  • Tonight, at the intersection of Highway 7 and Keele, eastbound traffic will be reduced to one shared lane for traffic heading straight through the intersection and traffic turning right onto Keele. Left-turn lanes will remain open.
  • Tonight, the northbound right-turn lane on Keele will be closed and southbound Keele will be reduced to two lanes for traffic heading straight through the intersection.
  • As work on Hwy 7 moves west to Jane over the next couple of weeks, westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone.
  • As crews perform work on side streets, north and southbound traffic lanes will be reduced.
  • Sidewalks, crosswalks and bus stops will remain open.

Crews continue to install underground foundations for the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre-Spadina Subway Station.

work dates*: Ongoing until Thursday, June 30 [Monday-Saturday]
work hours: 7am–midnight

  • There is noise associated with this work, including overnight, as crews drill holes for the foundations.

*Please note: As with other road construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other variables. We are committed to providing advance notice whenever possible.
