lane shift on Highway 7 at Bowes Road and traffic signal testing at Jane and Keele

Starting tomorrow, crews will be shifting westbound lanes on Highway 7 West at Bowes Road to the north to continue construction on the median. Crews will also be conducting traffic signal testing at the Jane Street and Keele Street intersections. Please see below for details on the traffic shift:

lane shift

work dates*: Thursday, April 7 to mid-May
work hours: beginning 9am–24hrs/day

  • To accommodate work activities in the median, crews will be shifting westbound lanes on Highway 7 at Bowes to the north side. This lane shift will be in place for several weeks.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained along the corridor. Watch for signs and follow directions.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination, and remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.
  • Due to the nature of this work, at times there will be noise and vibration around the work area.

traffic signal testing

work dates*: Thursday, April 7
work hours: 8am–4pm

  • To prepare intersections for final traffic signals, crews will be testing signals at the Highway 7 West and Jane Street intersection from approximately 8am–noon, and then moving to the Highway 7 West and Keele Street intersection from approximately noon–4pm.
  • Paid duty officers will be at both intersections during testing to direct traffic.Expect to see the lights flashing as they’re being tested.
