traffic pole installation and line painting on Highway 7

January 29, 2016

Hello,

Next week, crews will be installing traffic signal poles on Highway 7 at Edgeley Boulevard and repainting faded traffic lines in various locations along Highway 7. Please see below for further details on lane closures:

work dates*: Monday, Feb. 1 to Friday, Feb. 5
work hours: 9:30am to 3:30pm

  • In order for crews to install traffic signal poles, westbound traffic on Highway 7 will be reduced to two lanes for a short distance just east and just west of Edgeley Blvd.
  • Southbound traffic on Edgeley Blvd. will be reduced to one lane for a short distance just north of Hwy 7.
  • To complete this work, the bus stop that is located at the northeast corner of the intersection will be temporarily moved a short distance. When bus stops are affected, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop.
  • Once work has been completed, lanes on Hwy 7 and Edgeley Blvd. will re-open.
  • Please give yourself enough time to get to your destination.

work dates*: Monday, Feb. 1 to Tuesday, Feb. 2
work hours: 9:30am to 3:30pm

  • Crews will be repainting faded traffic lines in various locations along Highway 7, therefore several short-term lane closures will be required.
  • Work will begin at the CN Bridge in the westbound lanes and will move to other areas in need of line painting.
  • There will be construction-related noise from equipment and trucks.
  • Motorists and transit riders may experience traffic delays in these areas.
  • Please remember to reduce your speed through construction zones.

*Work may be rescheduled due to weather.

We understand that construction can be disruptive, and we thank you in advance for your patience as we transform Highway 7. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your Community Liaisons.
