Surveying and geotechnical tests are happening

November 12, 2015

Hello,

Starting this week, crews are surveying and conducting geotechnical tests along Highway 7 [from Helen Street to Edgeley/Interchange Way] and along Bathurst and Centre Streets. This work will help prepare for the first stage of rapidway construction. Please see the details below about temporary, rolling lane closures:

work dates*: starting the week of October 26 for approximately eight weeks
work hours: 7am – 5pm

Surveying:

  • Crews will be on foot, using standard surveying equipment.

Geotechnical testing:

  • Crews will use a truck-mounted drill rig to bore holes along the road and extract samples. Each hole will be filled before crews move to the next spot.
  • As needed, directional signs and paid-duty police officers will help guide traffic.
  • There will be temporary, rolling lane closures.
  • There may be some noise impacts associated with this work.

We understand that construction can be disruptive, and we thank you in advance for your patience as we transform the Bathurst & Centre community and Highway 7 West in Woodbridge. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
