To accommodate the road widening on Highway 7 West, hydro crews will soon begin work to relocate hydro poles farther back from the roadway. Starting next week, new wooden poles will be installed along Highway 7 West.
Dates*: Starting on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 for approximately five months
Hours of work: 7am to 7pm

- Crews will install hydro poles along the boulevards on both the north and south sides of Highway 7 West between Jane Street and the CN Bridge.
- Generally, work will move east however, crews will be required, at times, to move back and forth throughout the corridor to complete work.

- Crews will excavate pits and install new wooden poles
- Hydro service will be transferred from old poles to new poles
what impact will there be?
- There will be temporary, rolling east and westbound curb lane closures along Highway 7 West, from Jane Street to the CN Bridge.
- Wherever possible, sidewalks will remain open. If a sidewalk is closed, directional signage will be onsite to guide pedestrians.
- Access will be maintained to driveways in work areas.
- Bus stops may be temporarily relocated as the hydro work moves down the corridor. Where bus stops are affected, directional signs will guide pedestrians to the nearest open bus stop.
- Traffic control staff and paid duty officers will be on site as required.
- There will be construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.
- Some weekend work may be required.
